Wright criticizes Everton’s decision to sell Iwobi to Fulham

Ian Wright, a former forward for Arsenal, has criticized Everton for selling Alex Iwobi to Fulham.

After four years with Everton, Iwobi left on transfer deadline day to join Fulham.

The 27-year-old’s tenure at Goodison Park was rocky at first, but he eventually established himself as a crucial cog in the team’s machine.

The dynamic midfielder started all 38 Premier League games in which Everton participated last season, assisting on seven goals and scoring two himself.

The former Arsenal player was also honored by Everton as their best performer this year.

The Toffees, in Wright’s opinion, made a huge mistake by trading away their most inventive player.

For me, Iwobi was Everton’s finest creative player over the past couple of seasons, and they sold him,” Wright remarked in an interview for Premier League Productions.

He was eventually transferred to Fulham. They have stooped to this level.

I mean no offense to Fulham. Big names like Wayne Rooney and Mike Arteta have been mentioned in connection with a move to Manchester United. [sic].
